What is CBD?
CBD is a Cannabidiol, which is extracted from hemp oil and the hemp plant. Of the more than 100 cannabidiols that are contained in hemp oil, CBD is the most studied and prolific cannabinoid in the hemp plant, Cannabis sativa. The other cannabinoid most people are familiar with in hemp oil is THC. THC, or tetrahydrocannabinol, is responsible for the intoxication, or the marijuana "high”. CBD does not produce intoxication; you cannot get high from Spark Natural's CBD Oil. Spark Natural’s CBD oil is non-psychoactive and contains 0.3% THC, which is the legal amount of THC that products can contain without intoxicating, or causing the "high" effect on an individual.
The human body contains a specialized system called the endocannabinoid system (ECS), which is involved in regulating a variety of functions including sleep, appetite, pain and immune system response. Our bodies produce endocannabinoids, which are neurotransmitters that bind to cannabinoid receptors in your nervous system. Studies have shown that CBD may help reduce chronic pain by impacting endocannabinoid receptor activity, reducing inflammation and interacting with neurotransmitters.
